Hello!

**I wanted to share the Centro en la Argentina (COA)'s newsletter. The newsletter has a lot of important information especially regarding the upcoming 100th Celebration Festivities. The newsletter is all in Spanish.http://www.uchinanchu.org/uchinanchu/ryukyuanist.htm

**I also found out that University of Hawaii will be openning their Center for Okinawan Studies in Fall 2008.
The Center for Okinawan Studies, established in July of 2008, promotes the study of Okinawa/the Ryukyus (including culture, language, history and contemporary issues) and the Okinawan diaspora. COS supports the development of courses, promotes academic publications, conducts outreach activities, coordinates exchanges between UH campuses and the University of the Ryukyus, maintains a website and publishes a newsletter, and coordinates fundraising efforts for student scholarships and other projects. COS is the only center of its kind in the U.S. and the only one outside of Japan. For more information on the Center, please contact the CJS Director, Dr. Robert Huey, at 956-2662 or by email: huey@hawaii.edu." http://www.hawaii.edu/cjs/resources.html

Recently, this website received permission from Mr. Koji Taira to post the archived issues of The Ryukyuanist, a newsletter relating recent developments of interest to those focused on Ryukyuan issues and studies. They are presented here for your enjoyment. You will need Adobe Acrobat to read these files, however, and please note that large file sizes may take some time to download.

Cool! Thanks for the info!
